Most clever indeed...

I can only imagine how hard
this would be on the hands
but I really think
it would be worth it...

I lot of decorations I have seen
in the pretty shops have used
natural materials this year...and red is BIG!!!
this would sit perfectly with any "store bought" decoration...

I do think I need to give this a go myself...
And maybe make up some hessian and linen
material ones to go with them...

What do you think?

Are the decorations in your town like this this year...

Or maybe they are a certain colour theme...

I would love to know what Christmas inspiration you have...

  4. absolutely lovely as always and natural fibres such as linen and hessian would be awesome. Natural is definitely the go this year. people are just hammering together any old sticks and tying gumnuts and string bows to 'em. look great! jx

  6. This is beautiful and would sell big here in Connecticut. This would look wonderful going down a stair railing with twinkeling white lights.

  8. Hello, it's Katie here who made the jute star! Thank you Michelle for including the photo on your blog and also for the pattern of course.

Jute was harder on the hands than working with wool but I found it enjoyable and loved the end result. I have ended up making lots of these for Christmas. It is easier to use a larger hook and work the jute quite loosely. It knits together well and doesn't go floppy! I then blocked the stars with spray starch and left to dry on the Aga.

    Thanks again Michelle!
